Report: Redskins pursued Amari Cooper before he re-signed with Cowboys

The Washington Redskins tried to reel Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper on Wednesday to come to Washington, but were unsuccessful.

According to Adam Schefter, the Washington Redskins tried to reel Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper on Wednesday to come to Washington, but were unsuccessful.

And apparently, the deal with the Redskins would have made him the highest paid WR in the league. But as we know, Cooper made it clear: He wants to be a Cowboy for life.

Cooper ended up signing a 5 year, $100 million deal with the Cowboys. The Redskins are desperate for a wide receiver, especially after they traded Stefon Diggs to the Minnesota Vikings for draft picks.

Last season alone, Cooper recorded 1,189 receiving yards and 8 TDs. In his career, he has 5,097 yards receiving, and 33 TDs.

He led the Cowboys in receptions and receiving yards last season.
