The Philadelphia 76ers are adding depth at the big man spot as they await the return of Joel Embiid from his meniscus injury. The Sixers have relied on the combination of Paul Reed and Mo Bamba, but it doesn’t hurt to add another option.
The Sixers reportedly plan to sign former Milwaukee Bucks big man DJ Wilson to a 10-day deal. Wilson was a first-round pick of the Bucks in 2017 before he was traded to the Houston Rockets in the PJ Tucker deal in the 2020-21 season. He played four games for Nick Nurse with the Toronto Raptors in the 2021-22 season.
Wilson has spent the 2023-24 season playing for the Osceola Magic in the G League, where he is averaging 19.4 points and 9.5 rebounds.
