Matt McCormick committed to Tennessee baseball in July 2021.
He committed to the Vols after playing catcher and infield at West Virginia from 2020-21. McCormick did not transfer to Tennessee.
He did not play baseball in 2022 and transferred to Xavier ahead of the 2023 campaign.
Xavier and McCormick played against the Vols at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Tuesday.
Tennessee defeated the Musketeers, 10-2. McCormick started at first base and went 0-for-3. He recorded one walk in the contest.
