Report: Nikola Vucevic, Bulls to discuss extension at training camp

The Bulls big man is set to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

The Chicago Bulls may be wrapping up another long-term extension once training camp rolls around.

Reported by Joe Cowley of Chicago Sun-Times, Nikola Vucevic and the Bulls will have ‘initial discussions’ on a contract extension once training camp begins in the fall.

Cowley states that ‘both sides want him to stay with the team beyond the last year of the contract, which is set to expire after this season.

Vucevic, who had an up-and-down season in 2021-22, has been floated around in trade rumors this summer as the Bulls’ interest in Rudy Gobert was evident before the three-time Defensive Player of the Year was traded to Minnesota last month.

Last season, Vucevic averaged 17.6 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
