Report: Nets trade Kevin Durant to Suns for Mikal Bridges, others

The Brooklyn Nets will trade Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Mikal Bridges and others.

The Kevin Durant era with the Brooklyn Nets is officially over. After 3.5 seasons, 129 games and one playoff series win, the Durant era is over in Brooklyn. He is being sent to the Phoenix Suns in a deal.

After trading James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers at the 2022 deadline and Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 5, the Nets are sending Durant to the Suns in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, four first-round picks, and a 2028 pick swap as well as Jae Crowder.

The Nets will now turn their focus to a rebuild. The championship dreams are dashed for the moment. Durant averaged 29 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists during his time with the Nets.

When the Nets traded for Harden in January of 2021 to teamwith Irving and Durant, it was assumed they were going to win the title considering the immense talent on the roster. Fast forward to two years later and all three are gone.
