During the latest episode of ESPN’s “Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective” podcast, the topic of the New Orleans Pelicans trading Jrue Holiday to Brooklyn popped up.
While Windhorst expressed the proposed trades Tim Bontemps mentioned in the episodes “have been discussed with people in the league — in other words, we went to executives and agents and talked to them about them — but they are not actual conversations,” there was something to report regarding the Nets’ interest in Holiday.
“I think it’s been reported but if it hasn’t, I found out somewhere — I don’t think it was from an executive, maybe it was — that there was some discussion between the Nets and Pelicans in February,” Windhorst said.
Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson was the first to report the possibility of a move, tweeting in early August:
Players & picks have been discussed. Have heard that Nets offer is [Spencer] Dinwiddie/[Jarrett] Allen/[Dzanan] Musa and a protected future 1st. … nothing can be done before the Bubble ends and a trade window opens.
