The NBA trade deadline is a little less than 24 hours away and there will be many reports and conversations leading to the 3 p.m. EST deadline on Thursday afternoon. Until then, there will be chaos.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been mentioned in trade reports as they try to upgrade the roster. The biggest issue for the Sixers is depth, particularly at center.
One of the names that have continued to float out there for Philadelphia is Matisse Thybulle. The defensive standout is in his fourth season with the team and is set to be a restricted free agent at the end of the season. His name has been involved in numerous trade rumors.
The Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks expressed early interest in Thybulle. Per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, that list has grown substantially and includes the Dallas Mavericks:
The list includes the Hawks and Kings, per Marc Stein, and Warriors, according to Keith Pompey. Other teams who’ve called include the Pacers, Blazers, Bucks, Mavericks, Hornets, Raptors, and Suns, HoopsHype has learned.
The Mavericks pulled off a huge deal with the Brooklyn Nets to acquire Kyrie Irving. Considering they have two elite offensive players, they need defenders. That is what Thybulle can bring to that group if the Mavs were able to pull off a deal.
