It’s been a roller coaster ride for Markus Golden this offseason. While he likely expected to land a big pay day via free agency following a 10-sack season, the right offer never came his way.
In a shifty move, the New York Giants placed the rarely-used unrestricted free agent tender on their sack leader from a season ago. After the allotted time had passed, Golden’s rights returned to the Giants in late July.
On Saturday, Golden finally reported to the team.
I'm told Markus Golden has reported to #NYGiants camp, source says, and his entry process with COVID-19 testing has begun. https://t.co/TRozXoplEJ

For Golden, this represents another chance to shine with Big Blue, although this time around he’s not side-by-side with his biggest advocate, James Bettcher, who is no longer with the team.
Still, with Golden reporting, the Giants see the return of a talented and familiar face who will help their pass rush under defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
