Make that two games in the SEC that won’t happen this Saturday.
After it was announced on Tuesday that the Vanderbilt-Missouri game has been postponed due to a large amount of positive COVID-19 tests among both teams, news broke on Wednesday that the LSU-Florida showdown in Gainesville has also been postponed.
The news comes a day after it was reported by the University of Florida student newspaper that 19 Gators had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Florida coach Dan Mullen, after the Gators’ loss to Texas A&M last Saturday, got into some hot water with his athletic director and university president after saying he wanted to see “The Swamp” packed with 90,000 people. He later backtracked on the statement on Wednesday during the weekly SEC Coaches Teleconference.
“Whatever our local health officials come out and say, ‘This is the number of people that we’re going to allow at the game right now,’ that I want to encourage those people to come in, bring the energy, bring the excitement in the stadium and help our team to win,” Mullen said Wednesday.
A makeup date is tentatively set for Saturday, Dec. 12.
