During game six of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, Thompson suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in the third quarter of the game. Prior to his injury, Thompson was leading the Warriors in scoring with 30 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field.

Following his injury, Thompson missed the entirety of Golden State’s 2019-20 campaign. After an extended rehab, the Washington State product was medically cleared to train without restrictions on his knee in June.

Although he didn’t participate in scrimmages, Thompson was on the floor for Golden State’s offseason minicamp at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

After a positive stretch of practice at offseason minicamp, Thompson was expected to be on the court for Golden State’s preseason training camp before the start of the 2020-21 NBA season.

More details will likely come for Thompson’s reported injury.
