Report: Kevin Steele, Steve Sarkisian no longer candidates for Auburn job

Kevin Steele and Steve Sarkisian are reportedly no longer candidates for the Auburn head coaching position.

The list is being narrowed even more for Auburn.

Per Dennis Dodd, Kevin Steele is no longer being considered for the head coaching position and, per Auburn Undercover, neither is Steve Sarkisian who did not interview this weekend as expected.

Steele, who was one of the favorites to become the new head coach after spending five seasons as defensive coordinator for the Tigers, will serve as interim head coach for Auburn’s game against Northwestern in the Citrus Bowl.

Louisiana’s Billy Napier has reportedly taken the lead to become the next head coach.
