Report: Jets’ Zach Wilson might not want to start for the team anymore

The #Jets, folks:

The New York Jets had a weird situation on their hands this week and it revolved around their quarterback position which isn’t all that shocking.

The Zach Wilson tenure in the Big Apple might be over… reportedly because of Wilson himself. After being benched for Tim Boyle, The Athletic reported that the Jets want to turn the offense back over to Wilson… but he’s reportedly “reluctant” about stepping back in.

An added note says the team is hoping to change his mind.

As of Tuesday, there is still limited updates on what’s happening in New Jersey. Head coach Robert Saleh said via Jets Wire that Wilson “wants the ball” and wants to start… but there is no update on who is going to start for them next.

As things continue to be odd for the Jets at quarterback, New York went on to release Boyle as well. But that has nothing to do with Aaron Rodgers for those curious. He’s still a longshot to play, the Jets just decided to sign Brett Rypien off the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad so Boyle has essentially been replaced.

Rodgers (Achilles) is still considered an uncertainty to play again this season…even though he was placed in the 21-day practice window by the team. With Gang Green sitting at 4-8 overall and on a five-game losing streak, it wouldn’t make a ton of sense to risk injury.

Bills Wire (better yet, Jets Wire) will provide updates when more information is made available. New York josts the Houston Texans in Week 14.
