Report: James Bradberry signing 3-year deal with Giants

Bradberry was picked in the second round of the 2016 draft by former Carolina and current New York general manager Dave Gettleman.

According to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN, former Panthers cornerback James Bradberry is signing a three-year deal with the Giants worth $45 million with $32 million guaranteed.

Bradberry was picked in the second round of the 2016 draft by former Carolina and current New York general manager Dave Gettleman.

It took a while for him to grow into his role, but Bradberry eventually developed into an above-average starting cornerback with solid coverage skills. In 60 games with the Panthers, Bradberry totaled eight interceptions and 47 pass breakups. His numbers may have been more favorable if he didn’t have to cover the likes of Julio Jones and Mike Evans so often. In the NFC East, the competition at wide receiver isn’t quite so steep.

The Giants are getting a quality piece at a position of need – it’s a good move for them.

As for the Panthers, the best place to find Bradberry’s replacement will likely be the 2020 draft class, which is strong at cornerback.
