The Nebraska football program is locked in a recruiting battle for 2025 four-star tight end Chase Loftin. The Florida State Seminoles are the other team vying for his services. According to a report from On3’s Steve Wilfong, Loftin is trending in that direction.
According to the On3 recruiting rankings, Loftin is the 24th overall player in the 2025 recruiting class and the second overall player from Nebraska.
The Nebraska native has been to Lincoln multiple times over the last year. He visited Nebraska on January 20, April 6, April 27, and November 2. Those visits were unofficial. He took one official visit to the campus on June 21.
Loftin told Wilfong that he is considering Nebraska but that Florida State is still the frontrunner. The class of 2025 is still strong for a class that ranks 21st in the country, per the On3 recruiting rankings.
Loftin would add dynamic playmaking ability to the Huskers’ offense. Nevertheless, they appear to be on the outside looking in.
