Report: Houston guard Marcus Sasser cleared for 5-on-5 at Elite Camp

Sasser was among those prospects invited to participate in the NBA G League Elite Camp on May 16-17 in Chicago.

Houston junior Marcus Sasser has reportedly been cleared to play at the NBA G League Elite Camp this month in Chicago, Illinois, according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN.

Sasser underwent season-ending surgery in December to repair a broken bone in his left foot. The injury came as Sasser had put forth a strong start to the season, averaging 17.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.2 steals in 12 games. He was shooting 43.7% from 3-point range.

The 6-foot-1 guard was among those prospects invited to participate in the elite camp on May 16-17 in front of NBA and G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives. He is now expected to be ready to participate in 5-on-5 and other related on-court activities.

Sasser declared for the draft last month while keeping open the option to return to school. He will now have the opportunity to showcase his abilities in Chicago and gain feedback from teams on his potential draft stock ahead of the June 1 early-entry withdrawal deadline.

The NBA draft will take place on June 23.
