The New England Patriots plan on having fans attend games during the 2020 season, despite the coronavirus pandemic. According to Dale Arnold of WEEI, the Patriots will have a 16,000 fan capacity for their games.
Last week, New England announced that the plan was for the Patriots “to host about 20 percent of its total capacity” for all home games this season.
Speaking on the “Dale and Keefe” show Monday, Arnold went into greater detail as to how the Patriots plan to make this happen. Right now, the schedule for preseason games is unclear. The first regular season game for New England would be Sept. 13 against a revamped Miami Dolphins team.
I’ve got a source who told me within the last few minutes that managers have been told in a meeting today to prepare for the NFL season to open on time down at Gillette Stadium and with fans. I was told they are planning for 16,000 fans per game.
As the season gets nearer, New England is ready to put its new-look team to the test. In more ways than one, it’s going to be a year unlike any other.
