New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (neck) has been ruled out for this week’s game against the Miami Dolphins. What appeared to be a minor injury at first could be turning out to be much more.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Jones will avoid injured reserve for now, but the neck issue could longer for weeks.
The Giants are not expected to place Daniel Jones on short-term IR as they figure out how to manage his neck strain. Won't play this week but will keep him available week-to-week as of now.

There have been uncorroborated reports that Jones might be done for the season but the Giants are holding out hope that his condition improves in a week or two.
Again, the Giants don’t have to make any long-term decisions on Jones at the moment, and with six games remaining they don’t want to sink their season by making an announcement they don’t necessarily have to.
The Jones injury pretty much erases any hopes of making a run for the postseason. Right now their attendance is holding steady but they only have two home games remaining (Week 15 vs Dallas and the season finale vs Washington) so it really won’t hurt them to shelve Jones.
