Georgia defensive end will have top 30 visits will all teams selecting in the top five of the 2022 NFL draft. That includes the New York Giants, who hold the fifth and seventh overall selections in the draft.
From Pro Football Network:
At 6-foot-5, 272 pounds, Walker ran the 40-yard dash in a twitch 4.51 seconds and had a 35-inch vertical leap and a 6.89 three-cone drill. He had a 10’3″ broad jump.
The Georgia native had 6 sacks and led the Bulldogs with 36 quarterback hurries.
“Incredible upside with Walker,” an NFL executive said. “He’s an amazing athlete. Checks a ton of boxes for us. We love him.”
Walker has transformed his body from a 290-pound interior lineman to a sleek, complete edge player who can both rush the quarterback and cut off the run.
The Giants are looking for a edge rusher in this draft and they should be able to fill that need as there are four elite to choose from: Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson, Kayvon Thibodeaux of Oregon, Walker and Florida State’s Jermaine Johnson II.
It’s doubtful that Walker will be selected in the top four, so he’ll likely be sitting there for the Giants at both No. 5 and No. 7. With so many priorities on their to-do list this offseason, no one is quite sure which direction they are leaning at the moment.
