If the New York Giants are serious about moving RB Saquon Barkley and/or CB James Bradberry, mid-round picks are the likely return.

The New York Giants are in the process of paring down their roster in order to get under the salary cap when the new league year begins two week from now.

One of those initiatives is the likely trade of some of their big name stars who are viewed as overpaid. What they might get in return for, let’s say, cornerback James Bradberry, who has a $21.8 million cap hit this season, and running back Saquon Barkley ($7.2 million) is debatable at the moment.

Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports that mid-round picks are likely the ceiling for both Bradberry and Barkley.

The Giants are against it as they have few options when it comes to not only getting under the cap, but getting to the $40 million figure new general manager Joe Schoen wants to be at come free agency.

The Giants may not have any other choice but to take what the market dictates here. Bradberry would be too expensive to cut and Barkley, as we know, can only be traded for the Giants to avoid paying him his salary this season.
