Report: Giants intend to sign former Panthers K Graham Gano

According to a report by Ralph Vacchiano, New York intends to sign Gano once he passes his physical and COVID testing.

This has been a good weekend for former Panthers players finding new work in the NFL.

To recap, former Carolina defensive tackle Kyle Love has agreed to terms with the Buccaneers. Meanwhile, wide receiver Chris Hogan is signing with the Jets, and now kicker Graham Gano appears to be joining the Giants.

According to a report by Ralph Vacchiano, New York intends to sign Gano once he passes his physical and COVID testing.

In his career, Gano has played in 134 regular season games, 98 of which were in a Carolina uniform. He’s connected on 224 of 273 field goals (82.1%) and 306 of 321 (95.3%) extra point attempts.

Gano of course beat the Giants back in 2018 on a 63-yard field goal as time expired. He should be an upgrade over Aldrick Rosas, who was released recently not long after he was arrested.

This is the second former Panther Dave Gettleman has attempted to sign this month. Cornerback Ross Cockrell backed out of a potential deal last week. If all that sounds a little familiar it’s because it happened before. Cockrell had an agreement in principle to sign with the Giants in 2018 before he signed with the Panthers.
