Report: Giants’ Azeez Ojulari expected to play vs. Eagles

New York Giants LB Azeez Ojulari (quad) is expected to play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday night in the NFC Playoffs.

New York Giants linebacker Azeez Ojulari (quad) was the only player given a designation when the team released their final injury report on Thursday. He was listed as questionable.

Ojulari was forced to exit a Wild Card game against the Minnesota Vikings last week after taking a stiff knee to his thigh. He was sent for testing, which revealed no additional damage other than a deep bruise.

“It’s just so terrible,” Ojulari told the New York Post. “I can’t ever finish the game. I’m so frustrated. It’s just so tough. I’m happy we won, though. Gives me another opportunity.”

Head coach Brian Daboll initially listed Ojulari as “day-to-day” but he was able to practice on a limited basis all week. And now, it seems, he’ll be healthy enough to play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday night.

Ojulari has made a significant impact when he’s been able to play this season, but those moments have been few and far between. He’s dealt with a multitude of injuries and missed 10 games and a portion of several others.

But whether he’s 100 percent or not on Saturday night, Ojulari’s presence will drastically improve the Giants’ defense and help those around him.
