Pieces from the Golden State Warriors 2022 championship run continue to move. After players like Gary Payton II, Otto Porter Jr. and Juan Toscano-Anderson landed with new teams at the start of free agency, Damion Lee was next.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the veteran free agent guard has agreed to a one-year contract with the Phoenix Suns.

During his four seasons with the Warriors, Lee played in 201 games, averaging 8.1 points on 43.7% shooting from the field and 36.6% shooting from beyond the arc. During the Warriors’ run to a title during the 2021-22 campaign, Lee played in 63 games, averaging 7.4 points on 44.1% shooting from the field with 3.2 rebounds and one assist in 19.9 minutes per game.
While players like Steph Curry and Klay Thompson missed time due to injury, Lee served as a reliable piece in Steve Kerr’s backcourt rotation. With both Splash Brothers out in 2020, Lee notched a career-high 26 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field with five made 3-pointers against the Miami Heat.
After spending four seasons playing alongside his brother-in-law, Lee will now suit up against Curry when the Suns meet the Warriors during the 2022-23 season.
