Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is known as a quarterback guru.
After witnessing Sarkisian’s playcalling masterpiece in the national championship game for Alabama, recruits have been flocking towards Texas.
One of the Longhorns primary targets since Sarkisian has landed in Austin has been five-star quarterback Maalik Murphy. Fortunately for Texas, Murphy is expected to arrive on the Forty Acres soon.
On Monday night, a crystal ball prediction was entered by Tom Loy in favor of Texas. Moments later, Horns247 reported that Murphy is expected to visit Texas next week on a self-guided tour.

Murphy is the No. 2 rated pro-style quarterback out of the 2022 recruiting class according to 247Sports composite. The Gardena, California, native is the No. 4 player in the state and a top-30 prospect in the nation.
Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, UCLA, Florida, Alabama, LSU, and Penn State among others have extended an offer to Murphy up to this point. If Sarkisian is able to land a player of this caliber at Texas, it’d be an incredible jumpstart to his first full recruiting class for the Longhorns.
The excitement and energy couldn’t possibly be higher surrounding the Texas football program right now.
