Report: Five-star QB Arch Manning expected to visit Texas

On Wednesday night, Nick Harris of Horns247 reported that Manning is planning to take an unofficial visit to the Forty Acres in June.

Texas is expected to host five-star quarterback Arch Manning for an unofficial visit in June.

Now that quarterback guru Steve Sarkisian is the head coach at Texas, it has caught the attention of many of the nation’s top signal-callers. The Longhorns have already landed a commitment from five-star quarterback Maalik Murphy in the 2022 cycle, but Texas has set their sights on Manning for the 2023 class.

Manning is rated the No. 1 pro-style quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class and the top overall player from the state of Louisiana according to 247Sports. On Wednesday night, Nick Harris of Horns247 reported that Manning is planning to take an unofficial visit to the Forty Acres in June.

Although Manning does not interact on social media, he spoke with Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports recently and the early read on his recruiting cycle certainly includes Texas at the forefront.

“Manning has started to dive into his college recruitment as well. He really likes Steve Sarkisian at Texas. Their relationship began when Sarkisian was in Tuscaloosa,” Wiltfong stated.

Sarkisian prioritized Manning at Alabama, and it appears to have been a smooth transition over to Texas. The highly sought-after quarterback also mentioned to 247Sports that his family ties to Oxford (Eli Manning) and Knoxville (Peyton Manning) will not factor into his decision, which bodes well for a school like Texas.

It would be a monumental win if Sarkisian is able to bring Manning to the Forty Acres. Landing a highly coveted player of this nature would bring a ton of momentum into the 2023 recruiting class, much like Quinn Ewers did when he originally committed.
