Report: Ex-Giant Antonio Dennard dies in shooting

Former New York Giants defensive back Antonio Dennard died in a Pennsylvania shooting on Sunday. He was 32.

Former New York Giants defensive back Antonio Dennard died on Sunday after being shot outside of Legends bar in Muhlenberg Township, Pennsylvania. He was 32.

Citing the county coroner’s office, WFMZ reports that Dennard was pronounced dead at 3:15 a.m. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Dennard, who was born in Chicago, signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2012. He spent time on their practice squad before later joining the Giants and then the Green Bay Packers, where he also spent time on the practice squad.

Following the conclusion of his NFL career, Dennard briefly joined the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League (2015).

Prior to his time in the NFL and AFL, Dennard played four seasons at NAIA’s Langston University.

The shooting and Dennard’s death are currently being investigated by the Muhlenberg Township police and the Berks County district attorney.
