Cook brothers on the #Bills?

All eyes relating to the Buffalo Bills and potential additions remain on free agent receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

But what about running back Dalvin Cook?

Cook is a known commodity. He’s a four-time Pro Bowl talent… and the brother of current Bill James Cook.

Dalvin Cook is on the Minnesota Vikings but after declining a pay cut earlier this offseason on his $10.4 million salary, speculation insists he could be traded.

In due time, Dalvin Cook could eventually be cut if a trade partner isn’t found. Prior to that possibility, there is a link being made with the Bills.

According to Outkick, the connection does not come from Buffalo. Rather, the player.

Reportedly Dalvin Cook is not opposed to playing for his hometown Miami Dolphins… or teaming up with his brother on the Bills:

Cook is from Miami. Has has made it known through sources he’d like to play either for the Dolphins or with his brother James Cook on the Bills. And the Vikings have let it known Cook probably isn’t in their future.

At his age, 27, Dalvin Cook has plenty of left in the tank. He rushed for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns last season.

Sign the Bills right on up for that… if the salary cap didn’t exist.

According to Spotrac, Buffalo has less than $1.5 M in cap space, the second-least in the NFL. The Bills would need Cook to take a heck of a pay cut or a contract hugely based on incentives to get him to fit under the cap.

On top of that, James Cook, Buffalo’s 2022 second-round selection, is going to get his first look at being the Bills’ No. 1 rusher this offseason. Former starter Devin Singletary signed with the Houston Texans as a free agent this spring.

But James Cook will only get that chance if he wins the job against veterans the Bills signed this offseason.

Speaking of, Dalvin Cook seems even less likely considering those additions of Damien Harris and Latavius Murray.

Perhaps the Bills could eventually team up the Cook brothers one day, but 2023 seems unlikely.
