2020 truly does not quit.
A few days ago, Ian Rapoport at NFL Network reported that Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey had a “realistic chance” to return to the lineup against the Lions this week. Now it sounds like he won’t and could be out for an extended period of time.
According to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN, McCaffrey is “unlikely” to play against Detroit on Sunday and the team is preparing for a multi-week absence.
Panthers’ RB Christian McCaffrey is unlikely to play Sunday against the Lions due to his shoulder injury and the team still is preparing got a multi-week absence, per source.
So likely no McCaffrey and uncertainty about QB Teddy Bridgewater, too.

Not great news, especially considering his first backup Mike Davis suffered a thumb injury yesterday against Tampa that forced him out for awhile.
