Report: Cardinals to replace David Raih with Shawn Jefferson as WR coach

He has coached receivers since 2007 and has been the New York Jets receiver coach the last two seasons.

The Arizona Cardinals have not made any announcements about their coaching staff, but changes are expected, based on recent reports. The latest is that they are replacing David Raih with Shawn Jefferson as receivers coach, according to CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd.

Raih was reportedly let go after the season.

Jefferson has been coaching in the NFL since 2006. He was the New York Jets’ receivers coach and assistant head coach, working under Adam Gase. he was also the receivers coach for the Miami Dolphins from 2016-2018, also working under Gase.

He has coached receivers since 2007, working for the Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans, Dolphins and Jets.

He has coaching connections with the Cardinals but on on the offensive staff. Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph was the defensive coordinator for the Dolphins in 2016 and outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen was assistant linebackers coach when Jefferson led the Dolphins’ receivers.

There is still no word as to who will replace Tom Clements, who reportedly has retired from his job as passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach, although Cam Turner is supposedly being promoted to coach the quarterbacks.
