Report Card: Grading LSU’s win against Arkansas

LSU looked confident in all areas of the game in a road victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday.

Defense: B

The LSU defense has had almost nowhere to go but up this season, but they turned in one of their best performances of the season to date. Arkansas quarterback Feleipe Franks did end up passing for 339 yards with a handful of big plays throughout the game, but the defense deserves some praise after this game. Arkansas went the entire game without converting a third down (0-for-10), and the Razorbacks did not get much out of their running game.

Andre Anthony brought Franks down twice and Jabril Cox picked off Franks and had an important 36-yard return to set up a quick and short touchdown drive for the offense.

It may too premature to suggest the defense has been fixed, but this was certainly a positive development for the Tigers and defensive coordinator Bo Pelini.
