Report: Browns bring back P.J. Walker to the practice squad

The Browns have brought a familiar face back to the practice squad

After waiving quarterback P.J. Walker earlier this week to make room to activate rookie cornerback Cameron Mitchell, the Cleveland Browns have now re-signed him to the practice squad. The OBR’s Brad Stainbrook has first reported this move.

The Browns only have one quarterback on their active roster in rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson as Joe Flacco is still on the practice squad. Flacco will likely be signed to the active roster this week as he has been named the starting quarterback for the rest of the 2023 season. This means the Browns needed another practice squad quarterback.

Walker makes a great deal of sense given his time in Cleveland. Hopefully, however, Walker will not have to see the field anymore this season as his three games of significant playing time were more than enough to see he is not a starting-caliber quarterback.

This was always the logical move once Walker cleared waivers.
