The Brooklyn Nets played their final game of the preseason on Wednesday against the Miami Heat and saw some standout performances. However, on Thursday, they had some bad news to share with the rest of the fanbase about a roster move.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Nets are waiving forward Darius Bazley. Bazley had a solid preseason as he shot the ball well from three-point range and showed that his length and athleticism as a big forward was still useful on the defensive end along with displaying some ability to handle the ball and run the floor.
However, it seems that Bazley was in competition with Harry Giles III and Trendon Watford for one of the final spots on the roster in terms of big men. Unfortunately for Bazley, he lost that competition. Charania said in his post that Bazley is expected to draw interest as a free-agent.
With this news, it looks like the Brooklyn #Nets are going to move forward with Harry Giles III and Trendon Watford for the frontcourt depth. Bazley will surely get an opportunity to play somewhere else in the #NBA as he has a versatile skill set that most teams can use in a big. https://t.co/pGDfYWd0Eo
