Report: Brian Flores views Giants as an ‘attractive fit’

Brian Flores, who has held interviews with the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans, reportedly views the New York Giants as an “attractive fit.”

The New York Giants are currently in the midst of their general manager search, which should wrap up at some point next week. And once that hire is made, the organization will turn its attention to finding their next head coach.

Because the Giants intend to hire the GM first — and rightfully so — their pool of available options may dwindle a bit by the time they get around to conducting interviews. But the good news is there seems to be plenty of interest in the job.

Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports that Brian Flores, who was recently fired by the Miami Dolphins, views the Giants as an attractive potential fit.

Brian Flores has eyes for the Giants. That’s on good authority from several trusted sources, although 1) Flores has interviewed with the Bears and Texans and 2) other sources insist Flores sees New York as an attractive fit but has no preference.

As Leonard notes, Flores has already held interviews with the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans, and both of those teams appear to be moving forward at a faster pace than the Giants. Whether or not he’s still available when New York begins their search remains to be seen.

There were a lot of negative reports coming out of Miami in the immediate aftermath of Flores’ firing, including alleged conflicts with his players and members of his staff. But that hasn’t dampered the league’s interest in him.

The long-time New England Patriots assistant compiled a 24-25 record in Miami over the previous three seasons, including back-to-back years above .500.
