Report: Bills’ Leonard Floyd still fighting previous ankle injury

#Bills’ Leonard Floyd still battling previous ankle injury:

The injury situation for the Bills has quickly taken a turn for the worse.

A week after Tre’Davious White (Achilles) was placed on season-ending injury reserve, two other Bills joined him on the long-term sideline.

Head coach Sean McDermott did not know if their seasons would be over, but linebacker Matt Milano (knee/leg) and defensive tackle DaQuan Jones (pectoral) both had surgery and will miss extensive time. Both were injured in Week 5.

Meanwhile, pass rusher Leonard Floyd is another player on the “injury watch” radar.

According to the Buffalo News, Floyd indicated after the team’s 25-20 loss to the Jaguars that he is still dealing with an ankle injury he sustained in Week 2 against the Raiders. It caused Floyd to miss snaps against the Jags:

Since his initial injury, Floyd has not missed a game for the Bills. Over the past few weeks, he was not listed as having an injury designation either.

But Floyd has been given a “veteran rest day” on occasion since Week 2, most recently taking one last Wednesday prior to facing the Jaguars. The only two players who did have injury designations by the end of last week and missed the Jags loss were pass rusher Greg Rousseau (foot) and cornerback Christian Benford (shoulder).

With all the injuries already adding up for the Bills, the hope will be that Floyd’s issue subsides and does not become a bigger issue. Regardless, he’s a name to watch.

Bills Wire will continue to bring all injury updates for the team throughout the 2023 season.
