Report: Bills had private workout with 2022 NFL draft top TE Trey McBride

Report: #Bills had private workout with 2022 NFL draft top TE Trey McBride:

The Buffalo Bills have reportedly expressed interest in the 2022 NFL draft’s top tight end prospect in a few different manners.

First, according to The Draft Network, Colorado State’s Trey McBride has met with Buffalo either at the combine or via Zoom ahead of the upcoming draft:

Them, some further context comes via Syracuse.com. Reportedly, the Bills had a private workout with McBride:

McBride is considered the top tight end prospect for a fairly simple reason. Typically with most prospects at the position, you have one or the other: A playmaker or blocker. NFL.com calls him the whole package as a “two-way tight end.”

While McBride might slide into Day 2 of the draft, the Bills do not pick until the 57th selection in the second round. It’s unlikely Buffalo will have a chance at him, but if he slides, there’s a chance they could pounce.

Last season, McBride was the focal point for his team, recording 90 catches for 1,121 yards and a touchdown. He won the Mackey Award last season for college football’s most outstanding tight end.

Even if the Bills don’t land McBride, expressing interest in him shows they want playmakers at the position.

That, combined with the emergence of Dawson Knox last year and the signing of OJ Howard in free agency. All three have talent with their hands.
