(Update: Jan. 5, 3:23 p.m.): According to a report, the Bills and Bengals not resume their Week 17 matchup.
The NFL is also still figuring out how to handle postseason seeding with the contest unlikely to be continued:

The details are grey but the overall vibe is good so it’s worth an update.
According to ESPN, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin had some encouraging news last night. The specifics are not given, but Hamlin’s family friend Jordon Rooney, who had previously provided updates since Monday, gave another.
That one with the former world-wide leader states that doctors “got promising readings overnight.”
Here’s the full update:
Just chatted with Damar Hamlin’s family friend @jordonr.
Per Jordon and Damar’s family, doctors overnight got promising readings that they had been hoping to see by this morning. Jordon couldn’t go into specifics, but progress appears to be made.

Most recently on Tuesday evening, a positive step in progress was announced by Hamlin’s uncle.
According to him, Hamlin was still intubated but the oxygen level the 24-year-old was receiving at that time was at a rate of 50 percent assistance. That was down from 100 percent when he originally arrived at the hospital, which is a sign of improved breathing.
That does not mean Hamlin is fully recovered as he still has a ways to go, but any positive news is welcomed.
The ESPN update also goes on to state that Hamlin is “still sedated and in critical condition in the ICU” at the time of reporting.
Hamlin was stated to be in critical condition originally after he suffered cardiac arrest on Monday during a NFL game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin’s road to recovery continues UC Medical Center in Cincy.
The contest has since been postponed and will not be played this week, according to the NFL.
With Bills-Bengals off the table, that would mean Buffalo’s next matchup will be against the New England Patriots on Sunday at 1 p.m.
There is a possibility the Bengals matchup could be played after that and prior to the postseason, which both Buffalo and Cincinnati have qualified for.
Bills Wire will continue to provide updates as information is made available.
