Report: Bills connected to All-Pro receiver on trade block

The Buffalo Bills have been linked with the top name currently on the trade market.

Earlier this week, All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams requested the Las Vegas Raiders trade him. At first, the Bills were not in the fold. A few days later, they are.

According to MMQB’s Albert Breer, Buffalo are among teams that have inquired with the Raiders about a deal for Adams:

The Bills’ potential interest in Adams makes plenty of sense. Buffalo lacks a top-flight wide receiver talent on their roster and have instead gone with the “everybody eats” mantra in 2024.

But as general manager Brandon Beane often admits, he’ll inquire about many players so even he might admit this is true… saying that and making it happen will be two very different stories.

First, it has to make sense financially. In that regard, Breer added that in order for the Bills to make a trade for Adams, the Raiders would have to be willing to work with them to help Buffalo’s salary cap situation. Per Spotrac, Adams is on the hook for a nice chunk of change still:

On top of money, there is also trade compensation and the numerous other teams, including the New York Jets, who are linked with the 31-year-old wide out as well.

The 2024 NFL trade deadline is slated for Nov. 5.

Bills Wire will provide updates on Adams’ situation as information is made available.
