Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor made it clear at the start of training camp the team would dip into free agency in order to address some lacking areas.
Taylor and Co. made true on this claim via a visit from defensive tackle Mike Daniels, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Daniels, 31, is one of the best remaining free agents on the market outright and would help address some depth problems for the roster there. He had a PFF grade of 70.1 last season.
The Bengals recently lost nose tackle Josh Tupou to an opt out and Ryan Glasgow got waived.
Like all free agents, Daniels would be subject to an extensive onboarding process if he signs. He’ll take a physical, then undergo a battery of COVID-19 tests before being able to practice with the team.
Former Lions’ and Packers’ Pro Bowl DT Mike Daniels is visiting today with the Cincinnati Bengals, per source. If the visit goes as planned, the 31-year-old Daniels is expected to be a Bengal.
