The Panthers are on their bye week. The pandemic doesn’t take days off, though. According to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN, two of the team’s players tested positive for the virus this morning. There’s no word yet who the two are, though.

Whoever they are, they’ll be joining a couple of defensive linemen who are currently out due to covid. Second-round draft pick Yetur Gross-Matos was placed on the COVID-19/reserve list a few days ago. Also, defensive tackle Bruce Hector was just put on the practice squad COVID-19 reserve list on Friday.

Other players on the Panthers roster who have missed time this season due to the virus include starting cornerback Rasul Douglas, backup center Tyler Larsen, guard Michael Schofield and guard Chris Reed.

Two other players opted out of the 2020 campaign due to health concerns about the pandemic: rookie linebacker Jordan Mack and defensive end Christian Miller.
