The Washington Redskins are once again getting out in front of the curve and holding a virtual draft party for the NFL Draft, to be held online for fans to join.
Instead of a regular draft party, in which fans can gather and celebrate — or boo — their team’s selection in the draft, the Redskins will be inviting fans to a ‘Virtual Draft Experience’ on their social media channels, where they can listen to interviews with coaches, players, and celebrity fans.
“We hope the NFL Draft will be a source of joy and excitement for fans who welcome some distraction during these extremely challenging times,” head coach Ron Rivera said in a statement. “The virtual draft party is meant to be a celebration that will create a sense of unity for Redskins fans as we continue this fight together, while understanding we have a responsibility to dot he right thing by not celebrating together physically.”
All coverage for the event will be streamed live on the Redskins’ Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube pages. Registration is free for all fans at Redskins.com/VirtualDraft.
