Redskins free up additional $1.3 million in cap space with release of Odom, Ladler

The Redskins announced the release of Chris Odom and Kenny Ladler as well on Friday, clearing up an additional $1.3 million.

The Washington Redskins have made two more roster moves on Friday, releasing both DE Chris Odom and DB Kenny Ladler from the roster. The move reportedly opens up approximately $1.3 million in salary-cap space.

The Redskins made waves early on Friday morning when they announced that veteran cornerback Josh Norman would be cut from the team, and not long after, they cut ties with wide receiver Paul Richardson as well. Both of those moves were anticipated, but the new regime in Washington now seems to be cleaning house and ridding of unwanted contracts.

In total, the roster moves made on Friday will clear close to $20 million in cap space for the 2020 season.

It will be interesting to see what happens next, as there are several more contracts that the Redskins could choose to rid of.
