Reactions to Geno Smith’s up and down game are all over the place

Here’s what fans were tweeting about Geno Smith during and after the game.

Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith pulled off a perfect Jekyll and Hyde act against the Commanders yesterday. In the first half Smith’s performance was pretty close to atrocious. He missed layup throws, he walked himself into sacks and couldn’t get into a rhythm with any of his receivers. Smith finished the first half with an embarrassing grounding penalty to put a rotten egg on the whole thing.

Fortunately, Smith found his composure and his game in the locker room. When he came out in the third quarter he was a completely different player, and helped lead his team to a thrilling three-point win, courtesy of two near-perfect scoring drives in the fourth quarter from Smith.

As you might expect, reactions to Smith’s up-and-down kind of performance are a bit all over the place. Some fans don’t seem to care what he does, they want to see him replaced by Drew Lock as of yesterday. Others are more forgiving, or at least recognize that Lock is unlikely to alleviate the recent issues Smith has been having on the field. Smith also has a small but dedicated hardcore following who support him no matter what he does.
