Reacting to the Boston Celtics’ controversial loss to the Indiana Pacers

Even still, it was Boston’s defensive lapses in the contest’s third quarter that truly cost them the win.

The Boston Celtics lost a controversial 133-131 game to the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse this past Monday evening, setting up anticipation for the league’s last two minute report to see how an overturned call is judged by the NBA with another opportunity to review the play in question.

Star forward Jaylen Brown scored a season-high 40 points but took a contested baseline jumper with the game on the line that was initially called a foul on Buddy Hield but overturned on replay despite appearing to show contact to Brown’s head. Hield admitted to hitting Brown’s head after the game to Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla, adding intrigue to the questionable challenge overturning the call.

Still, it was Boston’s defensive lapses in the contest’s third quarter that truly cost them the win.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast gave their thoughts on it all in their most recent episode. Check it out above.
