RB Aaron Jones participates in Packers’ final week of OTAs

Aaron Jones was the lone prominent player participating during the Packers’ final session of OTAs.

Over 30 different players skipped the final week of OTAs for the Green Bay Packers, but one prominent player was on the field and participating on Tuesday.

Running back Aaron Jones.

Jones, who signed a new, four-year deal with the Packers this offseason, was the only expected starter on the field with the team on Tuesday, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

His presence didn’t go unnoticed, especially for one rookie.

Receiver Amari Rodgers, a third-round pick, appreciated having Jones in Green Bay with the team throughout the entire offseason workout program, helping set an example on the field during the practices for the younger players on the roster.

Rodgers said Jones was the player “everybody was looking at” on Tuesday.

Jones’ $48 million deal with the Packers includes a $50,000 workout bonus in 2021, but coach Matt LaFleur said last week that the final session of OTAs could be done virtually for the veteran players.

Jones, who produced 3,017 yards from scrimmage and scored 30 touchdowns over the last two seasons, didn’t care.

Even a voluntary session of OTAs in the middle of June is a chance to improve.

Here is Jones working with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett on route-running on Tuesday:

The final session of OTAs is on Thursday, which will wrap up the offseason workout program for the Packers. The next step is training camp starting in late July.
