Thursday was an off day at Baltimore Ravens training camp, and the break allowed us to reflect on what we’ve observed thus far. Secondary notching interceptions galore are one major storyline emerging from the first few practice sessions.
The defensive backs have recorded interceptions on all four days of training camp thus far, with Arthur Maulet achieving the most “highlight reel” of the INTs.
On Wednesday alone, the DBs notched six picks, including Marcus Williams’ pick-six, which occurred on the first play from 11-on-11 drills.

Marlon Humphrey contributed twice to the pick party, eager to prove he’s back to 100% fully fit.
All-Pro Kyle Hamilton, Jalyn Armour-Davis, and Trayvon Mullen provided the other three.
“Hopefully we get a lot of those [during the season],” Ravens Assistant Head Coach/Pass Game Coordinator Chris Hewitt said on Wednesday.
“I give a lot of credit to [General Manager] Eric [DeCosta] and his staff for putting this roster together. We’ve got a lot of talented guys back there. We’ve got length, we’ve got speed, we’ve got guys who are pit bulls. We’ve got it all.”
So what is going on- is this phenomenal defense? Bad offense? A combination of both?
Lamar Jackson’s recovery from what has been reported to be a stomach virus has been slowed. He missed three days of practice. When he returned, he didn’t look 100% himself, and the secondary capitalized on that.
And with Josh Johnson taking most of the first-team reps, the inflated number of interceptions is probably just a natural, everyday occurrence.
