The Baltimore Ravens were able to come back from 19 points down in the late-third quarter and defeat the Indianapolis Colts 31-25 in a thrilling Week 5 contest. Baltimore looked sluggish for the first three quarters, but ended up fighting until the end, moving to 4-1 on the 2021 season.
It was a game that was filled with mistakes for the Ravens, one of which almost cost them the contest. Cornerback Tavon Young was flagged for a personal foul penalty with 18 seconds left in the fourth quarter, as he shoved Indianapolis tight end Jack Doyle to the ground. However, Young’s reaction was warranted, as Doyle pushed the cornerback’s head into the field after the play.

Officials usually only see the second guy on sequences like the one between Doyle and Young. Even though it should have absolutely been Doyle who received the penalty, Young can’t react like he did if he wants to help the Ravens win football games. The cornerback owned up to his mistake after the game.

Many around Baltimore are furious with what Doyle did, and rightfully so. One of the people who took exception was Ravens safety DeShon Elliott, who defended Young with a message on Twitter, making it very clear that the tight end’s actions will not be tolerated.

The Baltimore organization is one big family, and sticking up for one another is a big part of what they do. The team stands by each other through thick and thin, and Elliott’s tweet only further shows how great the Ravens’ culture is.
