Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta released a statement on the release of defensive lineman Calais Campbell

The Baltimore Ravens have been making moves to save money against the cap, as they’ve been restructuring contracts as well as letting players go and leave for other opportunities. Baltimore ended up releasing defensive lineman Calais Campbell on Monday, saving $7 million in cap space in the process.

The Ravens announced the move on social media, making Campbell’s release official. With the announcement, Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta put out a statement, praising Campbell’s professionalism, leadership, and passion while calling his career “Hall of Fame-worthy”. DeCosta also didn’t rule out a return to the team in the statement, saying the door isn’t closed on that front.
