The Baltimore Ravens can ill afford to have any injuries in this game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After putting 23 players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list over the last 10 days and seeing this game rescheduled three separate times, Baltimore is understandably short-handed today. And things got just a little worse for the Ravens as cornerback Jimmy Smith limped to the sideline. A few minutes later and Baltimore announced Smith is questionable to return to the game with a groin injury.
The Ravens cornerback unit was already thin entering this week, seeing several players head to injured reserve. But the starting lineup wasn’t much affected by Baltimore’s COVID-19 outbreak. Still, losing Smith for any period of time would be a big blow for a defense that is desperately trying to limit a high-powered Steelers offense and give the Ravens’ offense good field position.
