Ravens announce inactives for Week 2 matchup vs. Chiefs

The Ravens announced their inactives list for their Week 2 matchup against the Chiefs

The Baltimore Ravens will be taking on the Kansas City Chiefs in their second game of the 2021 season. The team has dealt with a big number of injuries over the past month, and they won’t have a few key players available on Sunday night as they look to win against Kansas City for the first time in four seasons.

Both offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley and cornerback Jimmy Smith won’t suit up in Week 2 for Baltimore, which are both huge blows to the team. The other inactives are starting defensive lineman Derek Wolfe, defensive lineman Broderick Washington, and outside linebacker Daelin Hayes.

Stanley’s absence most likely means that the Ravens will move offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva over to the left side while fellow offensive lineman Patrick Mekari would slide in at right tackle. Baltimore has gone through a lot of offensive line shuffling just two weeks into the season.

It was hoped that Smith would suit up for this game, but the Ravens decided to rest him for another week as he works his way back to 100% health. Baltimore will rely on the remaining healthy cornerbacks that they have to pick up the slack, including Marlon Humphrey and Anthony Averett.
