Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid is one of the elite players in the league as he is able to take games over in the blink of an eye and he is able to score in so many different ways. He can knock down jumpers, he’s elite in the post, and he draws so many fouls as he is unstoppable down low.
Due to Embiid’s stature in the league, he earns a lot of respect from his peers in the NBA. The Toronto Raptors have two players from Embiid’s native country of Cameroon in Pascal Siakam and Christain Koloko and Koloko is excited for his first crack at Embiid.
The rookie out of Arizona told reporters this about his matchup with Embiid:
It’s going to mean a lot. It is going to be amazing. Joel is one of the best big men in the league. I always try to watch all of the big men — Joel, (Nikola) Jokic, all of those guys. Just playing against him, it is going to mean a lot. That’s why you want to play in the NBA. You want to play against the best players in the world and he’s one of them so I’m really excited.
Koloko and the Raptors will face Embiid and the Sixers on Wednesday night in Toronto at 7:30 p.m. EDT. It will be the first of two games at Scotiabank Arena.
