Raptors’ coronavirus tests return negative, team will self-isolate

The Raptors played the Jazz earlier this week.

When we found out that Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday, one of the first questions that sprung into everyone’s minds was who he could have potentially spread it to.

The first two answers were obvious — his teammates and the Thunder players, who the Jazz were playing that night. But then, when you dig a bit deeper, you think about all the other teams they played last week. One of those teams was the Raptors, who the Jazz played on Monday night.

The Raptors tested every member of their organization after Gobert’s diagnosis and, fortunately, everyone tested negative.

People were particularly concerned about Serge Ibaka. He guarded Gobert that night and did his ritual of kissing the ball after a made free throw.

Luckily for Ibaka and the Raptors organization, everything turned out okay.
